EV system warning

An EV or car-with-plug symbol showing a fault.

GET CHECKED SOON

Get it looked at soon · Amber means get it checked

What it means

This covers the electric drivetrain — the traction battery, motor, inverter, or their controls. The car may limit power or range to protect itself.

Can I drive?

Often yes, cautiously, but plan to get it checked — and stop if you see a red warning, rapid range loss, or any sign of overheating. Never touch orange high-voltage cabling.

Common causes

A battery or thermal-management fault, an inverter or sensor issue, or a charging-system problem. EV faults need equipment and training specific to high-voltage systems.

Warning-light symbols and meanings vary by vehicle — always check your owner’s manual. This is general guidance based on what the light indicates, not a physical inspection, and a light on its own never names a failed part.

Want to know what is causing the warning?

Auto Star can read the codes, inspect the vehicle, and find the underlying cause before recommending any repairs — you see what we find and approve the work first.
