Regenerative braking warning
A brake or battery symbol indicating reduced regeneration.

What it means
Hybrids and EVs recover energy by braking with the motor. When regeneration is limited — often because the battery is very full or very cold — the car leans more on the friction brakes and this light may appear.
Can I drive?
Yes; your regular brakes are unaffected. You may notice less one-pedal slowing and slightly reduced range. If it persists beyond a cold start or a full battery, get it checked.
Common causes
A very cold or fully charged battery (temporary and normal), or a fault in the braking or battery system if it stays on.
Warning-light symbols and meanings vary by vehicle — always check your owner’s manual. This is general guidance based on what the light indicates, not a physical inspection, and a light on its own never names a failed part.
