What it means
A hybrid warning covers the hybrid drive — the electric motor, the high-voltage battery, or the control system. The car often keeps running on the gas engine, sometimes with reduced power.
Can I drive?
Usually short-term to get it diagnosed, but do not ignore it — and if it is a red warning, or the car is losing power or overheating, stop and get help. Never touch high-voltage (usually orange) cabling.
Common causes
A hybrid battery cell or cooling issue, an inverter or sensor fault, or a 12-volt battery problem. It needs proper hybrid-aware diagnosis.
Warning-light symbols and meanings vary by vehicle — always check your owner’s manual. This is general guidance based on what the light indicates, not a physical inspection, and a light on its own never names a failed part.
