Forward collision warning light

A car with radiating lines toward a car ahead, often amber.

GET CHECKED SOON

Get it looked at soon · Amber means get it checked

What it means

Forward collision warning uses a camera and/or radar to watch for a vehicle ahead and alert you. A warning light usually means the system is temporarily blocked or has a fault, so it may not alert or assist.

Can I drive?

The car drives normally, but you have lost a safety aid — drive as if it is not there (because it is not) and get it checked soon.

Common causes

A dirty or obstructed sensor or camera (grille radar, windshield camera), bad weather, or a fault. Often clears once the sensor area is clean.

Warning-light symbols and meanings vary by vehicle — always check your owner’s manual. This is general guidance based on what the light indicates, not a physical inspection, and a light on its own never names a failed part.

Want to know what is causing the warning?

Auto Star can read the codes, inspect the vehicle, and find the underlying cause before recommending any repairs — you see what we find and approve the work first.
