What it means
Adaptive cruise uses radar or a camera to keep a set distance from the car ahead. A warning means that sensing is unavailable, so the smart-following feature is off.
Can I drive?
Yes — you just do not have adaptive cruise until it clears. Basic cruise may still function on some vehicles; either way, stay ready to control speed yourself.
Common causes
A blocked or dirty front radar/camera, heavy rain or snow, or a fault. Often clears once the sensor area is clean and the weather improves.
