Lane departure warning light

A car drifting over lane lines, sometimes amber.

GENERALLY OK TO PROCEED WITH CAUTION

Book it in when you can · Amber means get it checked

What it means

Lane departure warning uses a forward camera to watch the lane markings. A warning here usually means the system is temporarily unavailable (poor markings, weather, a dirty or blocked camera) or has a fault.

Can I drive?

Yes — this is a driver-assist convenience, not something that affects how the car drives. Just do not rely on the feature until it clears.

Common causes

A dirty or iced-over windshield camera, worn road markings, or a camera/module fault. Often it clears once the windshield is clean and clear.

Warning-light symbols and meanings vary by vehicle — always check your owner’s manual. This is general guidance based on what the light indicates, not a physical inspection, and a light on its own never names a failed part.

Want to know what is causing the warning?

Auto Star can read the codes, inspect the vehicle, and find the underlying cause before recommending any repairs — you see what we find and approve the work first.
