1988 Chevrolet Forward Control Radiator & Hose Replacement

The vehicle arrived at the shop needing radiator and cooling system work.

What we found

The main radiator, coolant hoses, transmission oil cooler hose, and hose clamps required replacement.

What we did

Nick removed the old assembly and installed a new Performance Radiator. He replaced the main coolant hoses, the transmission oil cooler hose, and all associated clamps. He then filled and bled the system using universal extended-life concentrate antifreeze.

How it turned out

The new radiator and hoses held pressure with no leaks, and the vehicle ran at normal operating temperature.
Replacing aging coolant and transmission hoses when you install a new radiator saves labor and prevents old rubber from failing under fresh cooling system pressure.
