2007 Chevrolet Aveo

2007 Chevrolet Aveo Radiator Replacement

This Aveo came in after a front-end knock, with coolant leaking and the temperature a worry. The shifting felt off too.

What we found

The radiator was damaged and leaking coolant, and the shift control cable next to it had been pushed in during the accident with its retaining clip dislodged — two problems from the same knock.

What we did

Nick replaced the radiator and refilled the cooling system with fresh coolant, then reseated the shift control cable and clip so it worked properly again. While it was in, we also did an oil and filter service.

How it turned out

No more coolant leak, temperatures back to normal, and the shifter working the way it should.
Even a minor front-end accident can damage more than it looks — the radiator and the cables and brackets around it. If your car took a knock and is now leaking or running warm, have the whole front end looked at, not just the obvious dent.
