What it means
Lane keep assist can nudge the steering to keep you centered. A light means it is switched off or unavailable — often for the same camera-vision reasons as lane departure warning.
Can I drive?
Yes. You simply do not have the steering assist until it clears. Always keep your hands on the wheel regardless; these systems are aids, not autopilot.
Common causes
A blocked or dirty forward camera, unclear lane markings, the feature being turned off, or a fault needing a scan.
Warning-light symbols and meanings vary by vehicle — always check your owner’s manual. This is general guidance based on what the light indicates, not a physical inspection, and a light on its own never names a failed part.
