2013 Jeep Wrangler

2013 Jeep Wrangler Transmission Service

The owner of this Jeep Wrangler had an intermittent check engine light and a transmission that would not shift into overdrive. They were worried the transmission control module had failed.

What we found

We diagnosed the check engine light and the no-overdrive complaint before quoting the expensive part the customer feared. Rather than a failed control module or a rebuild, what it needed was a proper transmission service.

What we did

Nick dropped the exhaust to reach the transmission pan, then replaced the transmission filter and fluid using the scan tool to complete the procedure correctly.

How it turned out

Shifting restored, and a repair bill a long way short of a control module or a rebuild.
A transmission that will not shift into overdrive with a check engine light is not always a failed module or a new transmission. We diagnose to the actual cause before quoting the big part, because sometimes the honest answer is a service, not a rebuild.
