2013 Jeep Wrangler Jasper Engine Replacement

The driver heard a clacking noise coming from the top of the engine and felt it running rough. They checked the oil level themselves and found it was nearly a quart low. The noise began after a previous valve cover gasket replacement.

What we found

We diagnosed the clacking noise at the top of the engine. The internal damage required a full engine replacement. The engine was covered under an existing JASPER warranty.

What we did

Nick removed the failed engine and installed the JASPER warranty replacement engine. He installed a new oil filter, filled the engine with fresh motor oil, and serviced the cooling system with Zerex G-40 coolant.

How it turned out

The new engine ran smoothly and quietly with no top-end noise.
If your engine develops severe noise, check whether previous repairs or engine installations carry a transferable warranty before paying for a new engine out of pocket.
