What we found
We inspected the engine to trace the leak. The head gasket was not blown. Oil was weeping from the valve cover gaskets on both sides of the V6 engine. What we did
We replaced the valve cover gasket set and grommets on both sides of the V6 engine. We also tore down, cleaned, and inspected the rear brake components. How it turned out
The new gaskets stopped the top-end oil leak. The engine bay remained dry, and the rear brakes were cleaned and put back together. An oil leak near the top of an engine can look like a head gasket failure, but it is often just a valve cover gasket.
