What we found
The battery and fuel pump were no longer performing reliably. The clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder were worn out, and the valve cover and exhaust gaskets were leaking. What we did
We installed a new battery and replaced the battery terminals. We replaced the electric fuel pump and fuel filter. Both the clutch master cylinder and clutch slave cylinder were replaced, followed by a complete bleed of the clutch hydraulic system. We replaced the valve cover gasket set, exhaust manifold gasket set, and exhaust pipe gasket. Finally, we performed an engine oil and filter change, replaced the radiator cap, and fitted new wiper blades. How it turned out
The engine started up cleanly, the exhaust leaks stopped, and clutch pedal feel returned to normal.Replacing both the master and slave cylinders together prevents the newer part from blowing out the older one.
