Slip indicator light

A car with skid lines, usually flashing briefly.

GENERALLY OK TO PROCEED WITH CAUTION

Nothing is wrong · Green is telling you something is switched on

What it means

This is an activity light, not a fault light. It flashes when the traction or stability control steps in because it sensed a wheel slipping — on a wet road, gravel, or hard acceleration. It is the system working as designed.

Can I drive?

Yes. If it only flashes briefly in slippery conditions, nothing is wrong. Ease off and the car regains grip.

When to look closer

If it stays on steady, or comes on with the traction/stability warning, then the system has a fault worth checking.

Warning-light symbols and meanings vary by vehicle — always check your owner’s manual. This is general guidance based on what the light indicates, not a physical inspection, and a light on its own never names a failed part.

Want to know what is causing the warning?

Auto Star can read the codes, inspect the vehicle, and find the underlying cause before recommending any repairs — you see what we find and approve the work first.
