Tacoma is about 16 miles from our shop in Graham, which usually runs around 26 minutes depending on how SR-512 is moving. The way most of our Tacoma customers come is north on Meridian, then west on SR-512, whether they're coming from East Tacoma, South Tacoma, the Lincoln District, or Fern Hill.
We'll be honest about something: we know that if you're driving in from Tacoma, especially from anywhere near the Dome or that SR-512 interchange, you're not stopping in because we're on the way to somewhere else. You drove past other shops to get here. Usually that means somebody told you to come, or you read through our reviews and decided it was worth the drive. We don't take that lightly, and we don't treat it as routine business. Before we touch anything, you get a written estimate, so you know what you're paying for and why, and there's no surprise when you come back to pick up the car.
Auto Star is a family-run shop bought and operated by Jabarjeet Singh, who handles A/C and electrical work, and Gurjivan Singh. Tony Sindhu is our lead mechanic for driveability, engine, and transmission diagnostics. He also handles brakes, oil changes, and light body work. Our front desk can walk you through what your car needs in plain terms. We're small enough that the owners are usually on the shop floor, not in a back office somewhere.
We're open Monday through Friday, 9 to 5. If dealing with a car during the week is tight, call ahead and we'll help you plan a drop-off that fits.
