Welcome to Auto Star Garage ("Auto Star Service Center," "we," "us," or "our"). By authorizing repairs, purchasing parts, or utilizing our website, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. These terms govern the repair and maintenance services provided at our facility located at 28801 Meridian E, Graham, WA 98338.

1. Washington State Automotive Repair Act (RCW 46.71)

We proudly comply with the Washington State Automotive Repair Act (RCW 46.71), which guarantees specific rights to consumers seeking automotive repair. By bringing your vehicle to Auto Star Service Center, you acknowledge and are protected by the following statutory rights:

1.1. Written Estimates & Authorizations

For any repair or maintenance work expected to cost more than $100.00, you have the right to request a written estimate before we begin work. When you drop off your vehicle, you may choose to:

• Request a detailed written estimate prior to any repairs.
• Authorize work up to a specific dollar amount without a prior written estimate.
• Waive your right to a written estimate entirely (which must be done in writing).

1.2. The 110% Rule

If you request a written estimate, Auto Star Service Center will not charge you more than 110% of the total estimated cost (exclusive of retail sales tax) without obtaining your prior verbal or written consent. If additional diagnostic findings require work that exceeds this threshold, we will halt repairs and contact you for authorization before proceeding.

1.3. Return of Replaced Parts

Under Washington State law, you have the right to inspect or receive any parts replaced during the repair of your vehicle. You must request the return of these parts at the time you authorize the repair. Please note that parts required to be returned to the manufacturer or distributor under a warranty or core charge agreement are exempt, but may be inspected by you before they are returned.

2. Diagnostics and Teardown Policies

We utilize advanced computer scanners and pinpoint circuit testing for modern vehicle diagnostics. Diagnostic services incur a dedicated fee which covers the technician's time and the use of specialized equipment. This fee applies regardless of whether you choose to proceed with the recommended repair.

If diagnosing your vehicle requires dismantling or a "teardown" of major components (such as an engine or transmission), we will provide you with a specific estimate for the teardown. This estimate will include the cost of reassembling the vehicle if you choose not to proceed with the final repair.

3. Mechanic's Lien (RCW 60.04)

Payment in full is strictly required before any vehicle is released back to the customer. We accept Cash, major Credit Cards, and pre-approved financing. We do not accept personal checks without prior managerial approval.

Pursuant to Washington State Law, Auto Star Service Center asserts a Possessory Mechanic's Lien on your vehicle for the total amount of the final invoice, including all labor, parts, diagnostic fees, and applicable storage charges. We have the legal right to retain possession of your vehicle until the bill is paid in full. Failure to pay may result in the lawful sale of the vehicle to satisfy the outstanding debt.

4. Storage Fees and Abandoned Vehicles

Once your vehicle repair is complete, or once a diagnostic estimate has been provided and you decline further repairs, you will be notified via phone or text message. Vehicles left on the Auto Star Garage premises for more than three (3) business days following this notification will incur a daily storage fee of $45.00 per day, unless prior arrangements have been made with management.

Vehicles left unpaid and abandoned for more than 30 days will be processed as abandoned vehicles in accordance with Washington State Department of Licensing regulations.

5. Warranties on Parts and Labor

Auto Star Service Center stands behind our workmanship. We provide a limited warranty on repairs, covering defects in parts and labor for a period specified on your final invoice (typically 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first, unless otherwise stated).

• This warranty applies only to the specific parts replaced and the labor performed by our technicians.
• This warranty is void if the vehicle has been subjected to misuse, neglect, racing, off-roading, or if the repaired component has been altered or tampered with by another repair facility or individual.
• We do not warranty customer-supplied parts. If you provide your own parts, you assume all liability for their failure, and labor charges will apply to remove or replace the failed customer-supplied part.

6. Auto Sales Disclaimer

Auto Star Garage operates both a service center and a used car dealership. These Terms and Conditions apply strictly to our mechanical repair and diagnostic services. All vehicles purchased from our sales department (viewable at autostarwa.com) are subject to a separate Buyer's Order, Purchase Agreement, and distinct Warranty/As-Is documentation provided at the time of sale.

7. Website Use and Privacy

The information provided on service.autostargarage.com is for general informational purposes. While we strive to keep information regarding our services and promotions accurate, we make no warranties regarding the completeness or accuracy of this website's content.

When you submit information through our website (such as scheduling an appointment), we collect your name, phone number, and vehicle details solely for the purpose of contacting you regarding your service request. We do not sell your personal data to third-party marketing agencies.

8. Governing Law

These terms and conditions, and any dispute arising from the services provided by Auto Star Garage, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington. Any legal action or proceeding shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Pierce County, Washington.
